Thanking upstairs neighbors for living life out loud

What is going on up there? Life on the first floor is never dull, rarely quiet, and always filled with anticipation. What noise will I hear next? Will it interrupt my meditation or wake me from a nap? The excitement keeps me ever vigilant. I couldn’t relax enough to feel bored if I tried. Thanks for keeping me alert, neighbors!

My favorite moments occur between 1-4 a.m. Bolting upright from a deep slumber because it sounds as though the ceiling is crashing down or someone is shooting at me — these moments remind me I am alive. The authentic action is definitely more exciting than any dream I may have been enjoying. I’m reminded to live life to the fullest while it lasts. Thanks for the wake up call, neighbors!

I can’t think of many things louder than my upstairs neighbors — fireworks shows, powder keg explosions and perhaps the bassiest live music. Oh, and jackhammers, maybe. Although sometimes I suspect they are operating heavy machinery up there. Maybe they really like DIY house projects or they amped up their vacuum with a diesel engine. Thanks for piquing my curiosity, neighbors!

Being reminded I’m not alone down here is comforting, really. I worked and searched for a home where I could live quietly without housemate compromises. But the upstairs tenants want to ensure I’m not lonely by making enough noise to communicate, “We’re always here for you!” Thanks for your kindness, neighbors!
