What is It Like to Get an Executive Physical Like Trump or Obama?

Ever wonder what actually happens during an Executive Physical like our world leaders receive each year? When most of us get a physical, it generally consists of a blood test, a 15-minute examination by our primary care physician, and maybe a little bit of poking or prodding. Obviously, high profile politicians and executives have a much different experience.

It’s a Team Effort

The standard physical involves just you and your general practitioner. No specialists. No special treatment. An Executive Physical engages a team of specialists to evaluate you in several categories. While no Executive Physical is the same, they generally include in-depth bloodwork, analysis of family health history, resting ECG, chest x-ray, treadmill ECG, cervical exam (female), PSA measurement (male), colonoscopy, aortic ultrasound, and more. A team of experts will administer and evaluate each procedure to ensure the patient is getting the best available analysis and care. The team then convenes for a full evaluation and makes recommendations based on the overall results.

The Royal Treatment

An Executive Physical is not covered by standard insurance, and it can be quite expensive. Clinics who offer such services generally pamper patients so that they are comfortable and relaxed during the multi-day experience. You should feel presidential or regal while getting the same evaluation as a world leader or royalty. Waiting areas feel more like office suites and can include amenities like refreshments, cubicles, and free gifts.
