Desire and Guilt

A narrative account of listening to the higher self/God’s voice in order to overcome the guilt that can often come with fulfilling positive desires which we want but do not need.

I took a little trip inside my mind and I found a tiny tiny tiny tiny voice all alone, one way smaller and weaker looking than the other voices roaming around. I was curious as to what/who it was so I asked, “Hey, what are you doing?”

The voice said: “Hey. I’m waiting for the light to pass by.”

I asked, “Pass by? What do you mean?”

The voice said, “Yes. Pass by. Well, I have a lot of things to say that are actually sometimes the most important but since I am so small, the other larger well fed and exercised, machine like, voices are heard way before I am… so, I have to wait here for the light to pass by. That like, what they call the ‘holy moment.’ Only when the light comes, all my words are taken and heard, and these nonsense other voices lose a bit of their buff and tough. Then I am instilled with a greater layer of volume, of ability to transcend past the noise.”

“Woah,” I said. “That sounds….. so….. can I ask you a question before the light comes?”

“Sure” the tiny voice said.

“I see a lot of the voices aren’t so friendly with each other. When the voice of desire begins to argue with the voice of guilt, do you speak out? What do you say?”

The voice smiled.

“I always always always speak out, every time the voices begin to argue or play too roughly. But…. Usually no one hears me.

When these two voices start to make a lot of noise, I’d always be sure to say ‘Do not allow the voice of guilt to make desire a bad thing every time. Desire as a voice has many friends. When you desire something which does not cause any harm and is surely to experience and produce pleasure, peace, love, etc., and therefore can magnetize and radiate outward, then the loudness of guilt creates a confusion.
