How Peter Reads a Book a Day

No skimming, 2 hours a day

My friend Peter has been reading a book a day for the past 30 days. Here is how he does it:

Search google for “Name of book .pdf”

Speechify will teach you to read fast. It also magically takes away the mental fatigue that normally accompanies reading. Without Speechify, reading feels like work. It’s mentally draining.

Remember when your mom read you books before bed and the story felt magical? Ya. That’s the magic of Speechify. It feels like less work because the app is literally reading the pdf to you. It’s like your mom. Thanks mom.

Speechify will start you out at a cool 250 words per minute (wpm) — a “normal” reading speed. Get used to it for a bit. Let your ears adjust to the voice.

After you read a few pdfs, start to ramp up. Knock up the speed dial to 300wpm. Let your ears adjust.

Repeat. 350wpm. Rinse. Repeat. 400wpm. Repeat six more times.

That’s it. Eventually, you’ll be cruising at 700wpm. That means a book pdf will take you 1–2 hours. Here’s the math:

As you ramp up, try to look at the screen. Speechify will highlight the word being spoken in blue, so you’re consuming the information audibly and visually. Double the retention. Double the fun.

Once your ears adjust to 700wpm, you can use the Speechify mobile app to read while doing other things.

Like biking. Juggling. Snorkeling. Whatever grills your chill.

When you unlock this superpower, you can do a lot of cool stuff.

Don’t take over the world too much. Seriously. With great power comes great responsibility.
