Why You Should Get on the Anchor App and Get on it Now

Anchor describes itself as a New York based startup aimed at democratizing audio. Are you familiar with Podcasts? Anchor is the next evolution of Podcasts. It’s similar to platforms like Medium where you give claps and the best content wins. And it is also just as simple.

This is the true beauty of Anchor. To use Anchor you simply set up a profile, record yourself talking and boom! You’ve got yourself an Anchor station. An Anchor station is sort of like an Instagram story or Snapchat but for audio. It is temporary, is limited to only 5 minutes of audio and goes live to the world once you post. If people like your stuff they’ll clap for it.

But, here’s the really cool feature of Anchor. These stations you create can be saved as “Episodes.” These episodes stay forever on your channel also publish on the Google Play and iTunes store. Meaning if you’re wanting to launch a podcast this is by far the easiest way. You can record one piece of audio, publish it to a host of different platforms and do all this all without ever leaving the app.

One of the reasons I love Anchor is because it allows me to produce content during times that are normally dead for me. Meaning I usually do my Anchor’s while driving to work. I have a 20 minute commute to work so I’ll pop my headphones in and just start talking. It’s raw, it’s real and it’s super easy.

Want to interact with other Anchor stations? Well you can “call in” to other stations and give a 1 minutes response to whatever they recently posted about. The publisher can then choose to respond to your submission and post it as more content. Meaning if you have a station that can generate a lot of interaction you can keep creating content without much effort.
